Young Augustine's opens in Grant Park

Who can resist hot, crispy fried chicken over stone-ground grits? This is one of the entrees available at Young Augustine's, the reincarnation of the Standard at 327 Memorial Drive in Grant Park. Yes, the restaurant was named after the saint but emphasizes his pagan youth, when he is alleged to have said, "God grant me chastity and temperance, but not just yet."

Besides its 2o-plus beer taps, the emphasis at the new spot is on small plates, like a jar of rillette with toast points, Benton prosciutto, a Chicago-style hot dog, pork-belly sliders, an oyster po' boy, a reuben sandwich made with cured salmon, and more.

I'll have more to say in this week's "Grazing" column.
