I was craving Cuban food all day Monday, after receiving two emails about it. So I journeyed out Buford Highway to try the new Havana Grill. The restaurant is located in a former fast-food restaurant of some type in front of Northeast Plaza at 3373 Buford Hwy.
I ordered this plate of boliche --slices of roasted beef stuffed with chorizo, one of my favorite Cuban dishes. The generous portion, under $10, was served with salad, toasted bread, black beans and rice -- so much food I couldn't finish it.
Flavors were great. The only problem was the tepid temperature of both the beans and the boliche. The staff of hot-blooded Cubans compensated by being warm and solicitous.
