We joined the throngs Saturday at the Sweet Auburn Curb Market in order to lunch at Grindhouse Killer Burgers (above).

While there, I overheard owner Alex Brounstein describing the location he's considering for a second restaurant. When I asked him about it, he swore me to secrecy about the specific location. Take my word for it, it's a great location.

I had my favorite here, the double Apache burger that features somewhat hot, roasted green chilies, along with grilled onions and pepper jack cheese.

We also visited Cafe Campesino, the coffee shop at the entrance to the market (above, right). The cafe features 100-percent Fair Trade, organic coffee. I ordered a doppio macchiato and a fruity scone baked on the premises. The macchiato was super-smooth and the scone was crumbly-delicious. The cafe has a great vibe and you can hang out there with your laptop. There's free WiFi.

On the way home, we stopped at Grant Park Coffeehouse (left), which Besha wrote about a few weeks back.

I ordered another doppio macchiato and it was a good demonstration of the broad range of flavors of espresso. This one was decidedly acidic with a bite that was slightly too strong for my taste. Nonetheless, I'm happy to have a real coffeehouse just a few blocks from our house.

The owner of the coffee shop is a culinary student and her baked goods draw raves. I haven't sampled them yet.
