I've received a few positive comments about the (fairly) new Creole Nouvelle downtown at 123 Luckie St. (404-522-1231), across from Ted's Montana Grill.
The menu includes all the favorite usuals, like gumbo, crawfish or shrimp etouffee, creole shrimp and grits and lots more. I suggest you call ahead because the restaurant posts its hours as "7 a.m. to close" Monday through Friday. Takeout is available 10 a.m.-9 p.m. daily.

Ordered blackened SHRIMP pasta to go and had chicken when back at the motel. Should have been suspicous when I noticed they looked twice at the dish before putting it in the bag. Gumbo had the tails on the shrimp, but tasted good. Will not go back considering the portions vs. prices. Good luck, you'll need it.
I Am sorry to say but CREOLE NOUVELLE IS BY THE MOST EXPENSIVE FOR SO LITTLE AND A NONE NEW ORLEANS TASTING resturant. I Ordered a talapia meal and a side of jambalya. It was 20 dollars and something. It was also my first time going. Oh before I go on. I am from the heart of New Orleans. But anyway, they gave me my plate and when I tell you that it was light, it felt like nothin was in there but hot steam. I opened it and the fish is like 5inches and taste nasty. The jambalya taste like rice with tomato sauce. Man I will NOT be going back there. I f you want real New Orleans food in atlanta go to JUST LOAF'N
