Daily Bread Cafe, a Christian restaurant, opens in old Utopia space

daily-bread-cafe-atlanta.jpg
Yesterday I drove past the building on the corner of Marietta and Northside that used to be Utopia Tapas Lounge. The space has been divided into two businesses, one a Mexican grill, and the other a Christian-themed cafe. Our Daily Bread (840 Marietta St., 404-892-1333) opened its doors a week ago, serving a hodgepodge of items, from espresso, smoothies and tea to pho, Korean barbecue, and steak and cheese sandwiches. The cafe, which has free wi-fi, will host a Christian open mic night every Monday at 7 p.m. The to-go menu and info flier I picked up were heavy with biblical quotes and mottoes such as "Come in for AMAZING food, a relaxed atmosphere, and an opportunity to soak in the Lord's presence!"
