Is the Joel Brasserie spot a good fit for Muss & Turner's?

Joel Brasserie has closed, as I reported here last week. Over the weekend, the news emerged (first reported by Foodie Buddha) that the folks at Muss & Turners are taking over the space. John Kessler's blog has more on the project, to be called Local Three, this morning.
I have to say, I find the location a very strange choice for what part-owner Ryan Turner says he hopes to be a "neighborhood gathering spot." The restaurant has a famously lavish kitchen, but I always saw the kind of fakey majestic nuevo riche building and location of Joel to be one of its downsides, and it was never trying to be a neighborhood hangout.
Regardless, I'm excited to see what the Muss & Turner's guys come up with.
