Food links 7/1: Pretty pictures, politically-charged sandwiches, and an opportunity for foodie businessmen

Posted by Alison Loughman on Thu, Jul 1, 2010 at 3:47 PM

Foodie Atlanta posts some of the prettiest non-professional food photos out there.

John Kessler posts video proof that soon dubu, a Korean tofu soup served bubbling hot, can really cook an egg after it's brought to the table.

Conflict Kitchen highlights the cuisine of a nation that's currently on the outs with the U.S in take-out pop-up locations that will change regularly. This current iteration is Iranian cuisine, and the kubideh sandwiches come in a wrapper printed with interviews about Iranian culture and politics.

Alan Richman recently wrote a great article for GQ in which he explored the challenges and rewards of ethical eating, and now he's posted the best dishes he found on his journey.

For the Atlantic, Corby Kummer looks at the different debate over ethical eating that food writers encounter: if/when offers for freebies overshadow real opinions, a debate that's been raging since Josh Ozersky's Time column that I wrote about last week.

And from Grub Street: Mario Batali's Eataly, the super-emporium of Italian goods, put an ad on Craigslist to hire management and operations staff with experience in other areas, like finance, and also offers to pay a $30,000 training salary.
