Visits to Ecco and Serpas

We've dined at two restaurants, Serpas and Ecco, during Midtown Restaurant Week, which ends Sunday. The deal is three-course meals for $25.

My entree at Ecco was grilled house-made pork sausage (above) with giant white beans and muscadine vincotto that provided a few notes of sweetness.

At Serpas, my entree was this block of pork belly (right) with grits and smoked tomato cream.

Both meals were pretty near perfect, especially considering the crowds. I'll have more to say in "Grazing" later this week.
