Woo Hoo! Bill Addison reports on Atlanta Mag's "Covered Dish" blog that Christiane Lauterbach has been honored by the Southern Foodways Alliance:
On Saturday night, at the culmination of much eating, drinking, food scholarship and all-around fellowship, the Southern Foodways Alliance awarded the Craig Claiborne Lifetime Achievement Award to our longtime columnist, Christiane Lauterbach.
The organization specifies that the award “goes to an individual whom all thinking eaters should know, the sort of person who has made an indelible mark upon our cuisine and our culture, the sort of person who has set regional standards and catalyzed national dialogues.”
Believe me. If anyone deserves such an award it's Christiane, who is also editor/publisher of Knife & Fork, a monthly newsletter that began intimately exploring the ethnic dining scene here long before blogging was imagined. (Christiane herself now blogs about Atlanta's street food scene.)
Be sure to check out the portrait of her that accompanies Bill's post.
