I guess they had to go trick-or-treating

Why does this keep happening to me? I look up a restaurant's hours on its website. Frequently they aren't listed but even if they are, I call to verify that the restaurant is open before I leave the house. Sometimes, I get voice mail and sometimes — but often not — the voice mail greeting states the hours.

That was the case this evening, when I planned a return visit to Sprig. I re-checked the hours, even though I went there at the same time last Sunday. I called the restaurant and got a recorded message assuring me that the restaurant was open Sundays until 8 p.m.

So Wayne and I drove the 30 minutes to get there. And — yep — it was closed tonight. There was no explanation on the door, just a sign apologizing for "any inconvenience."

WTF? If you're going to do that, how about adding the fact to your voice mail greeting. Thanks!

Of course, when you look at Sprig's hours on its Facebook page (shown here), there's some suggestion that timekeeping may be problematic for them.
