Restaurant Eugene, Mon., Dec. 6: Third Eugene Author Dinner featuring David Tanis of Chez Pannisse who will be presenting his book, Heart of the Artichoke and Other Kitchen Journeys. Chef Linton Hopkins will be preparing a four-course dinner, with pairings. Each dish is inspired by Tanis’s book, which is included in the price of the event. Dining in the Dark, Thurs., Dec. 9: Dining in the Dark allows guests to experience a four-course meal prepared by top chefs from around Atlanta in total darkness and served by blind or visually impaired guides. This month’s featured chef is Chef Gerry Klaskala of Aria. The event is limited to 16 people and will take place once a month through June 2011. JCT Kitchen & Bar, Thurs., Dec. 9: Farm to Table and Back dinner featuring locally sourced ingredients and guest chef Mike Lata of FIG restaurant in Charleston. Dinner includes four courses with wine pairings. All proceeds benefit Georgia Organics. $75. 5 p.m.

Davio’s, Sat., Dec. 11: Pastry Chef Kathleen Miliotis will host a gingerbread-decorating party where children, accompanied by an adult, can decorate premade gingerbread houses with Davio’s selection of colored frostings, candy and sprinkles.
