Restaurant Eugene, Mon., Dec. 6: Third Eugene Author Dinner featuring David Tanis of Chez Pannisse who will be presenting his book, Heart of the Artichoke and Other Kitchen Journeys. Chef Linton Hopkins will be preparing a four-course dinner, with pairings. Each dish is inspired by Tanis’s book, which is included in the price of the event. David Sweeney, of the recently closed Dynamic Dish (he recently began working for Eugene), will be the guest chef. $115. 6:30 p.m. 2277 Peachtree Road. 404-355-0321.

Café Circa, Mon., Dec. 6: Dinner and the Blues event featuring live performance by Francine Reed and a two-course dinner. Meal consists of your choice of an appetizer or a dessert or entrée. $20. 7-10 p.m. 464 Edgewood Avenue. 404-477-0008.

Dining in the Dark, Thurs., Dec. 9: Dining in the Dark allows guests to experience a four-course meal prepared by top chefs from around Atlanta in total darkness and served by blind or visually impaired guides. This month’s featured chef is Chef Gerry Klaskala of Aria. The event is limited to 16 people and will take place once a month through June 2011. JCT Kitchen & Bar, Thurs., Dec. 9: Farm to Table and Back dinner featuring locally sourced ingredients and guest chef Mike Lata of FIG restaurant in Charleston. Dinner includes four courses with wine pairings. All proceeds benefit Georgia Organics. $75. 5 p.m.

Davio’s, Sat., Dec. 11: Pastry Chef Kathleen Miliotis will host a gingerbread-decorating party where children, accompanied by an adult, can decorate premade gingerbread houses with Davio’s selection of colored frostings, candy and sprinkles. Lobby Bar and Bistro
, Sat., Dec. 11: Buffet breakfast with Santa Claus, featuring Breakfast Pastries, Fresh Fruit, Potato Hash Browns with Herbs, Grilled Chicken Waldorf Salad and more. Sausage and Waffle Skewers, Mini Chocolate Chip Pancakes and more for the children. Photographers will also be there to take pictures. $25/adult, $12/children under 12. 9-11 a.m. 361 17th Street.

Doc Chey’s, Sat., Dec. 11: 8th Annual Breakfast featuring pancake breakfasts and pictures with Santa Claus. All proceeds benefit Virginia Highland fire station nineteen. Empire State South, Sat., Dec. 11: Champagne Henri Guiraud Brunch. Chef Acheson has planned a special four-course menu to complement the featured Henri Giraud’s Champagnes including the Esprity Blanc de Blancs, Hommage a Francois, Ay Grand Cru and the Esprit Rose. $60.
