Lunch at No. 246

246sandwich.jpg
I had a ridiculously good lunch today at the new No. 246 in Decatur. I ordered a half-plate of agnolotti that I know I'm going to be craving for a long time.

The agnolotti themselves were stuffed with "corn milk" made by scraping corn from the cob and blending it with ricotta. Topping this was more corn, local chanterelles, goat cheese and tarragon. Hello, summer!

I also ordered a sandwich of sliced tomatoes, fior di latte mozzarella, basil and prosciutto. The prosciutto was almost a case of gilding the lily. It actually detracted from flavors of the mild mozarella and tomatoes grown in one of the cooks' back yard.

Read more in "Grazing" later this week.

Note: My iPod Touch got squashed by a car after I dropped it earlier this week. So I broke down and finally bought an iPhone 4. Thus the picture accompanying this post. You can look forward to seeing lots more bad pictures.
