Young Augustine's changes again

Posted By on Thu, Jul 21, 2011 at 11:59 AM

I grabbed a quick meal of lamb-sausage sliders, I'm not totally sure what the name is now. It used to be the Standard. Then it became Young Augustine's. Now, apparently, it's Augustine's...or Augustines.

I ran into Chris Johnson, the original owner of the Standard, then partner in Young Augustine's. He confirmed that he has bought out his partners. The bar fell on rocky times after the murder of one of its employees, John Henderson, Jan. 7, 2009. Johnson hopes to restore its popularity.

Our meal was good, but nothing of the quality that the original Standard offered. I also ordered the pub's elote — corn on the cob with a bit of white cheese — and Wayne opted for his usual Buffalo wings and a plate of cauliflower and brussel sprouts over rice.
