Gravy Train: BATON goes Momofuku, New Mexican restaurant in Midtown

BATON Supper Club v2.0 is next week, this time featuring Tien Ho, who worked at multiple Momofuku ventures in New York. Dinners are Monday (two seatings) and Tuesday (three seatings), and they’ll also be a post-dinner drinks and snacks event on Monday night (no reservations available for the late night party fun time).

Richard Blais will be cooking on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon tonight.

Mi Cocina, a Texas-based Mexican restaurant, is coming to Midtown - but won’t be open until late next year. The two-level restaurant will be neighbors with CB2 on Peachtree. (via)

The East Atlanta location of Australian Bakery will be closing in mid-December due to leasing issues. Their Marietta location will remain open. Owners say they hope to open a new location soon.

The Georgia Restaurant Association held their annual GRACE awards in November. Chris Hall, Todd Mussman and Ryan Turner of Local Three took home top honors with the Restaurateur of the Year award, beating out Richard Blais and Riccardo Ullio.

Buckhead’s Tavern 99 is now offering a “Get Fried” chicken special on Thursday nights. The meal is a bargain at $12 with three sides. Chef Darrell Rice is using his family recipe, learned from his grandma on their South Georgia farm.
