Atlanta Food Events, Dec. 12-18: Foie gras cooking class, a Bourbon tasting and more

Woodfire Grill Mon., Dec. 12, 6:30 p.m. Mourad Lahlou Dinner. Dinner will feature passed hors d'oeuvre followed by four courses and a small taste for $125 per person ($175 with wine pairings) and includes a cookbook to take home and enjoy. Details

Holiday Customer Appreciation Party. The event will feature a limited open bar as well as a holiday tasting station. Details

HOBNOB Neighborhood Tavern Wed., Dec. 14, 7 p.m. HOBNOB Perfect Pairings: Sweetwater Beer & BBQ. Chef Brett will be preparing various BBQ hors d'oeuvres that have been specially paired with complementary Sweeetwater beers. Details

Mac McGee's Irish Pub Wed., Dec. 14, 7:30 p.m. The Shamrock and Peach Book Signing with Judith McLoughlin. Judith is from Northern Ireland and her book blends the cooking styles of the two cultures. Judith will be at the pub signing copies of her book. The even will also feature her Guinness Braised Chuck with Champ Potatoes and Pickled Root Vegetable. Details

La Fourchette Thu., Dec. 15, 7 p.m. Le Caveau Burgundy Dinner. La Fourchette will host a four-course wine dinner with pairings from Le Caveau Fine Wines. Details

The Family Dog Thu., Dec. 15, 6-9 p.m. December Drinks with Jeff. Proceeds will benefit the Atlanta Day Shelter for Women and Children. Sip on three flights of cocktails for $15, or $5 if you bring a new or gently used coat to donate to the shelter. Details

Mac McGee's Irish Pub Thu., Dec. 15, 7:30 p.m. Small Batch Tasting w/ Jim Beam's Fred Noe. Seventh generation Master Distiller Fred Noe from the Jim Beam Distillery will lead a tasting of The Original Small Batch Bourbon Collection; Basil Hayden's 8yr, Knob Creek 9yr, Baker's 7yr, and Booker's. BLT Steak Sat., Dec. 17, 2-4 p.m. Cooking class with chef Holta: Oysers and foie gras. The class theme features foie gras, caviar, terrine and oysters. For an additional $15.00, guests can enjoy wine pairings with their samples of prepared dishes. Details
