O'Terrill's Pub has closed, as reported earlier here, and owner Rufus Terrill blames the super-controversial Peachtree-Pine homeless shelter, a block away.

Okay, then why does O'Terrill's website say "a new concept will be coming later in the year"? How will a new concept be any less affected by the homeless population in the area (unless, of course, the shelter closes)?

I'm not questioning that there's a problem there. In fact, a friend who lives nearby has been mugged twice while walking to the pub, which he loved....

Baroni on Peachtree has closed, according to What Now Atlanta (via Eater Atlanta). The restaurant, across from Tuk Tuk, replaced Wolfgang Puck Express about a year ago and was an improvement over that exercise in quicky gimmickry.

Still, Baroni didn't really measure up to its owners' popular spot in Midtown, Baraonda.

Next up is a restaurant named Fig Jam Kitchen Bar. I'm addicted to figs, so I hope it's good....

What Now's tireless operator, Caleb Spivak, also reports that The Grape in Vinings closed Dec. 31 and that Ludacris has Tweeted his plans to open Chicken & Beer at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
