Seeking greatness in a bowl of grain

“Grain bowl” is one of the most pedestrian (one might dare to say, “unappealing”) names for a dish I can imagine. Especially when you put a $9 price tag next to it. Nine dollars for a bowl of grain. I suppose there are some great bowls of Irish oatmeal out there that are worth nine dollars, with artisan Okinawa brown sugar or perhaps your own personal flannel-clad maple syrup server bringing the nectar directly from the tree. Or maybe there’s a great bowl of farro? Surely there is a great farro out there. Maybe in Egypt, but I digress.

Well, despite the pedestrian name, there is a truly great bowl of grain in Atlanta. Decatur actually.
