A new cupcake shop called Endulge Cupcakes is opening in Ormewood Park near Morelli’s. The shop will move in where the short-lived Little Cafe Paris was located. The menu offers daily staples plus rotating weekly and seasonal flavors - some of which can be alcohol infused. The best part? Cupcakes on the go - this place has a drive-thru! The shop hopes to open in February.
Speaking of Morelli’s - the Ormewood location has been closed since mid-December, and it's just announced they’ll re-open on January 23.
Just across Moreland, Hodgepodge is opening on Monday. They’ll host a sneak preview on Saturday from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. with some great pre-opening specials. Hodgepodge is an art gallery/coffee shop/cupcake bakery hybrid.
The AJC reports on "major reorganization" going on at MF Buckhead. The location's manager says they are just working out some issues with their landlords, Terminus, and hope to downsize their space to increase profits. They also acknowledge that they are researching other locations in case they can't come to an agreement on the space.
California food truck Naan Stop Express is planting roots in Atlanta, says Tomorrow's News Today. The restaurant puts a twist on classic Indian dishes (their signature dish is kind of like a naan gyro) and will also sell fresh naan. They'll be opening later this year and are currently scouting locations around town.
What Now Atlanta reports on Senor Patron, a new Mexican restaurant opening in Midtown's Spire.
The Porter and Brick Store Pub are included on Draft magazine’s 2012 list of the best beer bars in America. Taco Mac also earns a nod as a powerhouse chain.
According to signage posted at a local Publix, Atlanta-based Masada Bakery is halting distribution of their breads and bagels to retail locations. The products - which were readily available at most Publix, Kroger, and Whole Foods around town - will, presumably, still be available to businesses. According to the Masada website, 80 percent of their business was already coming from restaurants, hotels, and caterers, rather than the public.
Reported by Atlanta Business Chronicle, Zaxby’s is trying on a new look at a few Georgia locations. The new restaurants, debuting in South Georgia, will have a farmhouse feel. The interior will feature a more open dining area and an open kitchen. Zaxby’s is based in Athens.

Holy crap -- someone in that Campagnolo rendering is totally about to push a baby stroller out into the street! Stop him!
I wish Campagnolo luck. They'll need it with that fairly cursed spot. If the food is as good as what I've had at the Peasant Bistro, then they'll definitely have an advantage.
That stinks about Masada. I've really enjoyed buying their breads at the store. Good stuff.
RE: Zaxby's "farmhouse feel" -- judging from the customers I saw on my two visits to that chain while driving in east GA, they might do well to try out a feed bag as part of the farm concept. I think people would happily strap on a bag filled with their greasy chicken and maybe even stand in a stall covered in hay, horse-style.
@Darin: LMAO at the Zaxby's commentary. It is pretty much a one stop shop for fat asses. I would have to put Shane's Ribshack in the same category.
Update (good news!) on Masada - I've now heard that they will no longer sell through Publix but they will continue to sell at Whole Foods and Trader Joe's. They've stopped distribution to Kroger for the time being, but it may return in the future.
I wish the Peasant Group would bring back Pleasant Peasant and Mick's first before trying this new concept. I miss those two Atlanta institutions.
