Mardi Gras restaurant events in Atlanta: Where to eat, party and les bon your temps

Break out your multi-colored beads and get ready to gorge yourself on Cajun food! Mardi Gras is almost here, and Atlanta restaurants are ready to give locals a taste of the Big Easy.

Atkins Park Fri., Feb. 17-Tues., Feb. 21. Mardi Gras Oysterfest. The Smyrna location will host a 5-day Oysterfest in celebration of Mardi Gras. The festivities will kick off on Friday night with oyster specials and a performance from the Patrick Scott Band. The celebration ends on Tuesday night with a full-blown Mardi Gras party, complete with beads and beer. Details

Parish Food & Goods Sat., Feb. 18, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. 4th Annual Mardi Gras Celebration. This afternoon event will feature live music and cajun food. A $40 ticket gets you all-you-can-eat crawfish, New Orleans sandwiches, whole roasted pig, oysters, red beans and rice, house made king cake, and unlimited Abita beer. Details

Park Tavern Sat., Feb. 18, 3 p.m.-2 a.m. Mardi Gras Music and Food Fest. Five live bands will head up this festival, located in The Rink at Park Tavern. There will be an original New Orleans menu, costume and crawfish eating contests, hurricanes, and more. Details


Food 101 Tues., Feb. 21. Mardi Gras at Food 101. A special Mardi Gras menu featuring New Orleans classics will be featured during lunch and dinner on Fat Tuesday. Guests who wear their beads will get a free Hurricane. Details

Serpas Tues., Feb. 21., 5:30-10:30 p.m. Mardi Gras Party. Serpas will serve an abbreviate version of the regular menu, and include special dishes from chef Scott’s hometown of New Orleans, including seafood gumbo, muffaletta, crawfish pie, red beans and rice, and chicken and sausage jambalaya. Live music from a second line street-style jazz band will be played throughout the evening. Details

Ra Sushi Tues., Feb. 21, 7 p.m. Mardi Ra. The Japanese restaurant will celebrate Mardi Gras with dishes and drinks that give a nod to New Orleans, decorations, a special guest D.J., and more. Details

How about a crawfish boil Saturday at Big Easy Grill? Sounds a lil more authentic than sushi.
