Omnivore - Atlanta’s 2015 James Beard award semifinalists announced

The JBF will announce its final list of nominees Tues., Mar. 24.

Image Semifinalists for the 2015 James Beard Awards in the Restaurant and Chef Award categories were announced today at noon, including many notables from Atlanta. The JBF will announce its final list of Restaurant and Chef Award nominees, as well as the nominations for Book, Journalism, Broadcast Media, and Restaurant Design awards, at the James Beard House in New York City Tues., Mar. 24. The 2015 James Beard Awards gala will be held at the Lyric Opera of Chicago on Mon., May 4, where winners will be awarded their bling.

In the meantime, congrats to all the Atlanta chefs and restaurants named among this year’s semifinalists:

Best New Restaurant: Lusca

Outstanding Bar Progran: Kimball House

Outstanding Pastry Chef: Pamela Moxley, Miller Union

Outstanding Restaurant: Bacchanalia

Outstanding Restauranteur: Ford Fry (The Optimist, King + Duke, JCT. Kitchen & Bar, and others)

Outstanding Service: One Flew South

Outstanding Wine Service: Miller Union

Outstanding Wine, Beer, or Spirits Professional: Steven Grubbs, Empire State South

Rising Star: Landon Thompson, Cooks and Soldiers

Best Chef Southeast: Billy Allin (Cakes and Ale), Kevin Gillespie (Gunshow), Todd Ginsberg (The General Muir), Steven Satterfield (Miller Union)
