I really really hate these online polls, where the chef with the best social media skills (or the highest paid PR team) gets an award for being a good chef. That being said, VOTE ATLANTA!!

Food and Wine's People's Choice Best New Chef awards went live today, and in the Southeast a number of Atlanta chefs are represented: Empire State South's Ryan Smith, Miller Union's Steven Satterfield, and Miso Izakaya's Guy Wong. Peter Dale, chef at the National in Athens, is also in the running.

I voted (for who? I'll never tell), and it looks right now like the Atlantans are doing fairly poorly compared to some other folks. So, despite it having very little to do with actual cooking skills, it would sure be a sweet deal for one of our local chefs to be able to claim the title. So get out the vote! Voting ends March 11.
