Breakfast at Octane and Little Tart Bakeshop

Happiness is breakfast at Octane in Grant Park — the city's best espresso with a cheddar-bacon scone from the Little Tart Bakeshop.

The scone's bacon, I was assured by an employee, was from a local supplier.

"Where might these pigs have lived?" I asked. "Somewhere close, right?"

"I don't know exactly, but yeah," she said.

Sarah O'Brien, co-owner of the bakery, is in fact all about locally sourced ingredients. Here's a video in which she talks about her motivations.
