I was tempted to order the grilled-cheese sandwich that Eater Atlanta named the best in the city recently. But I ordered the (huge) panino of roasted eggplant layered with mozzarella, roasted tomatoes, and basil. The eggplant wasn't breaded and the tomatoes were not gooey. In other words it wasn't another eggplant parmesan sandwich pretending to be something else.
The sandwich was served with macaroni salad, never my favorite but enlivened with bits of sundried tomato and kalamata olives. Some slaw made with purple cabbage was also on the plate.I suggest you scrutinize the chalkboard and printed menu closely. I completely missed the special of lentil soup. Both the panino and the bowl of soup would be too much for anyone to eat, so a half-sandwich with a cup of soup would be a groovy addition to the menu.
Speaking of groovy, Dino rules the market area of the cafe. You can buy panettone, cookies, dishware, and bottled house-made tomato sauce.
