
PushStart Kitchen is hosting one of its "family-style" dinners Friday and Saturday nights this week. The menu includes three courses, cocktails, canapes and wine pairings. The main course this week features "lump crab, crispy potato dumpling, roasted heirloom carrot, fennel jam, and shrimp chowder." Suggested "donation" is $50. Better make a reservation right now...
I had another flawless lunch at Cardamom Hill Wednesday: short ribs and taro braised in a sauce of black pepper and green chilies; creamy korma full of cauliflower; butternut-squash rice; and a salad with mango and grapefruit.
My friend Rose ordered the same thing and we also sampled a glass of super-refreshing mango juice with ginger.
Incidentally, fans of the much-missed Tierra will be happy to learn that Marty, a longtime server there, is now working at Cardamom Hill, usually dinners....
