Ever wonder why it's so hard to light peanut butter on fire? No? Well, in any event, findings of a recent study published in Environmental Health Perspectives could explain why. Researchers at the University of Texas School of Public Health found that samples of peanut butter, cold cuts, and other fatty foods all contained traces of a highly toxic flame retardant: hexabromocyclododecane (HBCD).
