After Starbucks bought La Boulange Bakery in early June, it seemed to only be a matter of time before the coffee café crossed over into more culinary ventures.

Starbucks is looking to offer beer and wine menus in four metro Atlanta locations. Alpharetta, Roswell, West Midtown and Atlanta proper will be the first to entertain the idea of creating "safe, comfortable places for people to enjoy their evening," according to Zach Hutson, a Starbucks spokesman.

Currently only six locations in the nation offer this type of menu. But the coffee mogul isn't stopping there. Locations with these beverage menus also plan to start serving new food options like flatbread sandwiches and fruit and cheese plates.

Hutson said:

"As we get closer to opening, we'll have more details about specific menu options. Our plans are to hopefully begin serving by the end of the year."
