News / Food media YouTube's new food channel is 'Hungry'

YouTube is set to launch its own food channel this week named HUNGRY. The project, spearheaded by Food Network and Cooking Channel veteran Bruce Seidel, will be a platform for its own, original content that will begin to air this Wednesday, June 27. According to Huffpo, "HUNGRY is part of YouTube's plan to roll out 100 niche channels with original programming. The $200 million venture will be marketed across Google and its advertising networks."
The line-up and quality of shows on HUNGRY is meant to rival existing food TV networks. Shows like Summer Desserts Unplugged With Laura Vitale (airs June 27) will feature Vitale as she demonstrates how to make great desserts WITHOUT the use of electric-powered hand tools.
Airing June 28, "Drink Inc. follows the adventures of two of the top mixologists in Los Angeles. Each week Steve Livigni and Daniel K. Nelson visit some of the most unique restaurants to gain inspiration to help them create never-before-tasted cocktails."
