Food & Life World's best ice cream back at Jake's

Seriously, if you want to taste it, stop by the Irwin Street Market. Just to be safe, I would call ahead to make sure it's in stock, 678-705-7945.
Figs are popping up elsewhere. My first figs this year were at the Shed on Glenwood a couple of weeks ago. Gilberto Santana-Peres, Chef de Cuisine, grills them and tops them with manchego cheese and a bit of balsamic vinegar. They were perfect but not a regular menu item right now.
Santana-Peres is, by the way, running the Shed's kitchen until Todd Richards takes over next month. Richards will replace Lance Gummere who left to work for Shaun Doty's new venue, Bantam & Biddy.
I've also encountered figs in the watermelon salad at Grant Central. A great combo.
