Food & Life Lousy Tipper Database

The next time you leave a bad tip, your name could end up in the Lousy Tipper Database. The 128 page database found at LousyTippers.com is searchable by customer name, city, and state; so far six of those pages are dedicated to Georgia. The submission form includes spaces to enter the customer's first and last name, street address or place of business, city, state, month, year, and finally the total bill amount and subsequent tip. Name and address fields are optional, but a quick browse reveals that names are included more often than not.
The list's creator remains anonymous, but we do know that he or she delivered pizza in college and recently returned to delivering food as a second job. After one bad tip too many, the unnamed vigilante decided to create a website where people could submit the names of bad tippers, effectively creating one very public wall of shame.

This site is dedicated to all those who make a living, or try to make a living off of gratuity. TIPS stands for "to insure prompt service." If you provide this service and get nothing in return, usually all you can do is complain to your co-workers. Now you can complain to the world and expose those who take advantage of your hard work.
But what constitutes a bad tip? To make things clear, a Tipping Chart can be found on the site listing tip guidelines for 23 different service jobs. According to the chart, a server should be tipped "15% to 20%, more if the service is very good," and a valet should receive $3-$5. A pizza/delivery person: "$2.00 or 15% to 20%, whichever is greater." See the full list below.
Before you go to town on that guy who stiffed you last week, it's worth noting that LousyTippers.com is not without rules. Three groups of people are "off-limits."
No really old people. I know they're often terrible tippers, but they're old. They grew up in a time where a quarter really meant something, and they often live on a fixed income...Also, no handicapped people. Their life is rough enough and they too also usually live on a fixed income. Finally, no kids. We all know that parents often give kids the money to get the pizza at the door and the amount includes the tip but the kids pocket the extra and stiff the driver.
So if you're really old, really young, or have a disability, you're safe. Thank you, come again. Everyone else, BEWARE!
TIPPING CHART
Bartender- $1.00 to $2.00 per drink or 20% of the total tab.
Buffet Server- $1.00 to $2.00 per person.
Coatroom Attendant- $1.00 to $2.00 per coat checked.
Cruise Employees- It is customary to leave a tip at the end of your cruise for the following people, your cabin steward, head waiter, assistant waiter and Mater d'. The amount varies, check with your cruise line first.
Gas Attendant- It's rare these days but if they pump the gas for you they should get $1.00 to $2.00.
Grocery Boy/Girl- $1.00 to $2.00 for loading your bags in your car and $3.00 if you have more than 3 bags.
Hairdresser/Barber- 15% to 20%.
Hotel Bellhop- $1.00 to $2.00 per bag, with a $2.00 minimum.
Hotel Concierge- $5.00 to $10.00 for getting tickets or reservations.
Hotel Doorman- $1.00 per bag or $2.00 for hailing a cab.
Hotel Housekeeper- $2.00 to $5.00 per night.
Manicurist - 15%
Room Service- 15% to 20%
Pizza/Delivery Person- $2.00 or 15% to 20%, whichever is greater.
Pool Attendant- $1.00 to $2.00 for bringing towels or chairs.
Shampoo Person- $2.00
Skycap- $1.00 to $2.00 per bag.
Spa Service- 15% to 20%
Taxi Driver- 20%
Valet- $3.00 to $5.00
Waiter/Waitress- 15% to 20%, more if the service is very good.
Washroom Attendant- $1.00
Wine Steward- 15% of the price of the bottle.
