Quick Bites: A new South African tapas bar, Dancing Goats at Ponce City Market, and more

The 12th & Midtown development team announced that Café Intermezzo plans to open a new location in the mixed-use development project, joining STK, Cucina Asellina, Ri Ra Irish Pub, RA Sushi, Mi Cocina, and Piola. BuckheadPatch reports that Intermezzo's original location at 1845 Peachtree Road will close in November when the Midtown location is scheduled to open.

Ponce City Market's first tenant is open for business. The new Dancing Goats Coffee Bar quietly opened its doors on Saturday. According to MidtownPatch,Chef Jay Swift, from neighboring 4th and Swift, will soon add sandwiches and salads to Dancing Goats' repertoire. The shop's official grand opening will be held on Fri, Aug. 17.

Soul Vegetarian made its debut at the Atlanta Food Truck Park and Market. We hear that Soul Veg will now be making regular weekend appearances at the park.

Antico Pizza recently filed a building permit application with the City of Atlanta for nearby "Antico Gelateria," an Italian-style ice cream and coffee shop. The Antico expansion will be located at 1077 Hemphill Ave.

Shaun Doty's yet-to-be-named Atlantic Station restaurant scheduled to open at the end of this year will take over the space that formerly housed The Grape. The space was most recently occupied by a pop-up restaurant collaboration between Café at Pharr and Yumbii.

Genki Noodles and Sushi recently opened two kiosks at the Georgia Dome. The kiosks will serve Japanese-style street food, offering grab-and-go options like yakisoba, chicken fried rice, vegetable fried rice, Japanese barbecue chicken, and Japanese marinated ribs.

According to the Atlanta Business Chronicle, local restaurateur Justin Anthony (of 10 Degrees South) plans to open a South African themed restaurant at Phipp's Plaza in September. Anthony's new spot, YEBO Restaurant & Bar, will be a South African-inspired tapas bar located in the space that formerly housed Latitude and The Grape.

Chef Todd Richards, along with The Shed at Glenwood owner Cindy Shera, plan to open a new restaurant called "The Wildflower" slated to open in the Spring. "The Wildflower" will be located on 13th St. behind the Four Seasons Hotel. Richards is currently the executive chef at The Shed.
