John Howell Park Sat., Sept. 8, 12-5 p.m. 3rd Annual Battle of the Burgers This year's Battle of the Burgers event benefits Embraced. At the 5K race in the morning, runners will finish a burger before crossing the finish line. If you're not into running but love burgers, join the afternoon festivities during which some of Atlanta's finest restaurants will face off for the title of Best Burger. Details
Taqueria del Sol Sun., Sept. 9, 5 p.m. Third Annual Hatch Chile Festival Taqueria del Sol’s executive chef Eddie Hernandez and chef David Waller of Sol Catering will craft an assortment of specialty dishes incorporating the spicy green peppers for this block-party type of celebration. Details
Turner Field Sat., Sept. 8, 3-8 p.m. Great Atlanta Beer Festival The Great Atlanta Beer Festival returns to Turner Field and will feature hundreds of different beers to sample from Atlanta, the Southeast, and all over the U.S., including SweetWater, Atlanta Brewing, Terrapin, and more. Details
CinéBistro Sat., Sept. 8, noon-6 p.m.; Sun., Sept. 9, 4-7 p.m. U.S. Open 2012 at CinéBistro. CinéBistro at Town Brookhaven is teaming up with USTA Atlanta to showcase the men’s singles semifinals and finals. Food and beverages will be available for purchase throughout the broadcast. Details.
