RA Sushi Mon., Oct. 1, 11 a.m. International Sake Day. RA Sushi Bar Restaurant is recognizing “Nihonshu no Hi” or International “Sake Day,” an informal holiday created to celebrate the popular Japanese spirit. Nothing pairs better with sushi than sake, and in honor of this special day RA is encouraging guests to explore this lesser known spirit! Hot sake is $1 all day. Sprig Wed., Oct. 3, 5 p.m. Meet Jim Vesper of Lemelson Vineyard for a Wine Tasting. Jim Vesper of Lemelson Vineyard will be at the bar for a wine tasting of two of their wines: 2010 Thea's Selection Pinot Noir and 2011 Tikkas Run Pinot Gris. Taverna Fiorentina Thu., Oct. 4 OctoberFest Beer Dinner. Krombacher and Southern Tier Craft Beer Dinner, 5 Courses 5 Beers. Guest speaker and certified Beer Specialist Joe Herrig will entertain and inform guests on the many aspects of brewing and drinking craft beer. Exectutive Chef Paolo will be featuring dishes from South Tyrol area of Italy, with Bavarian influences from neighboring Austria and Germany. Der Biergarten Through Oct. 7, 12 p.m. Munich on Marietta Street Oktoberfest Celebration. Atlanta’s only true German beer garden hosts Oktoberfest from September 22 — October 7 in downtown’s Luckie Marietta District. Der Biergarten’s “Munich on Marietta Street” celebration will kick off with the traditional tapping of the keg and feature authentic German food and beer specials, festive décor and live bands along with special events including a Brat Eating Contest with pro eater Grace Lee and a “Barks & Beer” night for pups Sept. 29; and Oktoberfest Olympics on Oct. 7. Wrecking Bar Brewpub Through Oct. 7 Raise a Stein to Oktoberfest at Wrecking Bar Brewpub. Beginning Saturday, Sept. 22, the Wrecking Bar Brewpub will be raising our steins along with the rest of Munich, Germany! We’ll be serving up German specials including Bernhard's Bavarian Pretzels and Delia's Chicken & Patak Bratwurst and Jaeger Schnitzel, to name a few. We'll also be paying homage to German brewing with a small batch of Oktoberfest beer in addition to pouring our Rauchbier, Kölsch and Hefeweizen. Details

Tin Lizzy's Thu., Oct. 4, 11:30-2 a.m. National Taco Day Benefits Breast Cancer Awareness. October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Tin Lizzy's is doing its part. In conjunction with National Taco Day, Thursday, October 4, Tin Lizzy's will donate a percentage of every taco sold throughout the day to It's The Journey, Inc. It's The Journey, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that raises funds and awareness for Georgia's breast cancer organizations offering support to women and men affected across the state. The event is held at all Tin Lizzy locations. Details

The Cook's Warehouse Mon., Oct. 1, 7 p.m. Simple Abundance Cooking Class. Want to learn how to have a taste of Murphy's at home without ordering takeout? Register for Chef Winslade's Simple Abundance Cooking Class and he'll show you some of his tricks. The class menu will include a Local Apple Salad with blue cheese, pecans and date vinaigrette; Soy Glazed Beef Short Ribs with root vegetables; and for dessert a caramelized apple and frangipane tart. Wrecking Bar Brewpub Oct. 1-31 Wrecking Bar Pours Boobie Beer to Benefit The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The Wrecking Bar Brewpub is raising awareness for two of our favorite things! Beginning Monday, Oct. 1, we'll be pouring Boobie Beer - a pomegranate hibiscus wheat beer that will have you thinking - and drinking - pink. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Details
