Omnivore - Another lunch at Bantam + Biddy

Glitch-free and delicious

I paid another lunchtime visit to Bantam + Biddy Thursday. This time, I encountered no problems at all.

Well, maybe one problem. On my way out, I bought an Alon’s-made lemon tart from the case in front of the restaurant. (You know: I needed a pre-gym energy snack.) I was taken aback by the price: $4.33 — basically $5 with a tip.

Otherwise, my meal was a good experience. I ordered the meatloaf made with grass-fed beef, topped with a teriyaki sauce aged in bourbon barrels. Loved it. My sides included mac and cheese with a pronounced gratin and “spicy” turnip greens, which I thought were seasoned with cumin. But the dominant seasoning turned out to be guajillo chile powder. It’s pretty strong stuff.
