Sad days in the Deckard camp. We had to make a decision to close the restaurant. I want to thank all my devoted fans and all the patronage.

Chef and owner Matthew Deckard announced the closing of Deckard’s American Tavern Tuesday morning via Twitter. Located at 650 Ponce de Leon Ave. across the street from the former City Hall East, Deckard’s first opened its doors in Sept. 2010.
Deckard followed up the initial announcement by Tweeting this: Thank you to all my fans. It was a fun 2 years. Keep a look out for me.
Deckard was unavailable for comment at press time. No word yet on where he will land.
