No sooner do I complain that I wasn't finding new dishes on the menu at Holy Taco ... and I do.
Among them was this flat-out amazing chile relleno. It's made with an anaheim chile instead of the usually preferable poblano. It was filled with a goat-cheese and pecan cream that spilled onto the plate and was studded with pecan bits. Chunks of pear were also present and the chile was draped with three arugula leaves.
The incredible flautas that I have been ordering lately are (temporarily) off the menu and I selected an interesting version of a chimichanga instead. Normally, a chimi is basically a burrito that's been deep fried. This is more like a flaky, fist-sized pastry shell filled with spicy roasted pork.
Wayne ordered a plate of roasted cauliflower with black olives and dates. It was seasoned lightly with rosemary. We agreed that the dates' sweetness needed a contrast — maybe a few green olives.
@TheGorgeousJR: "[It is] very inexpensive; we sell it at the shop. You can get it…
Where can you buy caul fat?
This looks amazing. However, I see a bell pepper on the counter, and bell pepper…
Love pork belly.
Some food just doesn't photograph well, even if it is tasty.
Nothing wrong with grease on the walls if the burger is tasty.
