Kevin Rathbun has announced that former Rathbun’s sous chef Chris McDade will take on the role of chef de cuisine at his forthcoming restaurant KR Steakbar. McDade returns to Atlanta after working at Maialino, chef Danny Meyer’s Italian restaurant in New York City.

After closing last week for renovations, La Fourchette will reopen this week as Barca Tapas & Bar.

La Tagliatella, a European-based Italian chain, will open its first U.S. locations this month at Emory Point (1540 Avenue Place) in Decatur and the Shops at Metropolis (919 Peachtree St.) in Midtown. Both restaurants will serve lunch and dinner Sun.-Thurs., 11:30 a.m.-10 p.m., Fri.-Sat., 11:30 a.m.-11 p.m. La Tagliatella’s menu features a variety of authentic dishes including more than 400 pasta and sauce combinations and several Napoletano-style pizzas.

No. 246 launched its new weekend pastry window featuring the creations of pastry chef Taria Camerino. On Saturdays and Sundays, passersby can conveniently purchase prepackaged bags or boxes of desserts to-go. Camerino has also revamped No. 246’s dessert program which now offers a selection of smaller pastries that are meant to be shared and paired with cocktails.

Chef Drew Van Leuvan’s forthcoming restaurant, Seven Lamps, has set its opening for Mon., Dec. 10. The restaurant will be located in The Shops Around Lenox at 3400 Around Lenox Road.
