Last weekend, Ponce City Market hosted the Southeast Regional Barista Competition & Brewers Cup where, you guessed it, baristas from all over the Southeast competed for the chance to qualify for the United States Barista Championship held in Boston next April. Competitors John Fogleman, Daniel Mueller, and Keelan Lyons of Octane Coffee were on-hand representing Atlanta.

At the event, competitors were given 15 minutes to expertly prepare three drinks for the judges. Using various techniques and flavors, the six finalists each brought a unique flavor to the competition. However, none was better than four-time competition champion Lem Butler of Counter Culture Coffee who took home 1st place once again.

Check out a slideshow of the event here.
