News Pura Vida Tapas to close

After an 12-year run at its Poncey Highland location, owners Leslie and chef Hector Santiago announced Tuesday that Pura Vida will close its doors at the end of December. The news comes just seven months after the closing of Super Pan, the sandwich shop that formerly operated out of the Pura Vida's lower lower level.
The restaurant had apparently been engaged in negotiations with the building's landlord for several months.
In an email, co-owner Leslie Santiago wrote:
It is with much regret that we have to announce that we will not be renewing our lease on Pura Vida for 2013. We will be operating until the end of this year. December 31st will be our last day of service. We are working on our future plans and are exploring other locations for new concepts.
Santiago also said the she and chef Hector are actively exploring their options and are currently seeking out potential partners and/or investors for future projects.
