Bone Lick BBQ robbed

Bone Lick BBQ (1133 Huff Road) fell victim to a smash and grab robbery Thursday night. Suspects used a rock to smash Bone Lick's front window and made off with a cash register, which was later found on the Maynard Terrace exit ramp off of Interstate 20. Owner Mike LaSage said burglars also attempted to steal a flat screen TV and the restaurant's ATM. Bone Lick BBQ posted the news on its Facebook Friday morning.

Although LaSage was disheartened by the break in, he joked, "I'm surprised they didn't try to steal our Ms. Pacman game too." He also had this to say:

Although this is a minor setback, the support we have been receiving today from the community has been incredible. Crime happens everywhere and there are great local businesses in West Midtown and throughout our city that need continued support in order to thrive. While we are a new addition to West Midtown, and realize there have been some problems with crime in the past, we have been welcomed with open arms and are hoping to be a part of positive change for the neighborhood.

Bone Lick BBQ will be open for lunch and dinner Friday. In fact, the restaurant is offering a complimentary meal to its 100th customer.

In addition to the Bone Lick incident, Fox Atlanta reports that police in Atlanta are investigating at least four similar smash and grabs that occurred Thursday night. No news yet on whether the incidents are related.
