Daily Hash 1/4/2013: Former Loca Luna space demolished, a 'cannabis friendly' coffee shop, and more


Demolition of the former Loca Luna building at Sixth and Juniper Streets has begun. Developers Novare Group and Batson-Cook Development will soon begin construction on a 23-story high-rise known as 100 6th Street at the site.

The times they are a-changin' as the first "cannabis friendly" coffee shop opens in Colorado.

According to the the Global Burden of Disease Study, America ranks as the 29th healthiest country.

Monday marked chef Kevin Gillespie's final shift at Woodfire Grill. Gillespie, who noted the occasion on social media earlier in the week, shared a kind message with Facebook fans on Thursday: "I want to thank everyone for the wonderful messages of encouragement following my post about leaving Woodfire. Its your support that keeps me focused on doing the best food I can every day. I hope to see you all at Gunshow this spring."
