In case you missed it, Decatur's Carpe Diem, located at 105 Sycamore Place, has closed. The restaurant's last day of operation was Dec. 23.
Plans for Shaun Doty's new restaurant Chick-a-Biddy have been filed. The fast-casual chicken concept will take over the former the Grape space on 19th Street in Atlantic Station. Chick-a-Biddy is slated to open in April.
Construction on Kevin Gillespie's forthcoming restaurant Gunshow has begun. Last Monday marked Gillespie's final shift at Woodfire Grill. Gunshow is slated to open this spring in Glenwood Park.
After closing its 2888 Buford Highway location in November 2012, Lebanese restaurant Lawrence's Cafe will soon relocate, joining Revolution Doughnuts, Ale Yeah!, and Avellino's Pizza at 910 W. College Ave. in Decatur. The menu will undergo an update but diners can expect to see many of the restaurant's staples at the Decatur location.
Hodgepodge Coffeehouse and Gallery in East Atlanta has added brunch to its repertoire. The menu will include vegan, vegetarian, paleo, and gluten-free options.
Last month, Persian restaurant Rumi's Kitchen reopened in a new location at 6112 Roswell Road. The new location includes an attached marketplace, Rumi's Pantry, which sells baked goods, sandwiches, and coffee.
After speculation that Engine 11 Firehouse Tavern would close after Dec. 31, 2012, the space at 30 North Ave. is now listed as available for lease.
