I thought it might be fun to introduce a feature that includes faces I encounter in restaurants. Some will be restaurant people themselves and others will be random strangers. After decades of writing "Grazing," one of my habits has become interrupting people's dinner to quiz them about their food. That often turns into brief conversation. I'll take some pictures myself and in other cases I'll pick them up from the web. All with permission, of course.

The reason? Vaughn looks so much like a hippie from the late sixties and early seventies, I started tripping on the memories. I expected Janice Joplin or Grace Slick to follow them in. After a few minutes of staring, I finally asked him what the deal was.
It turned out, of course, that the couple is a band from Austin, the only really civilized city in Texas. The band, Loves It, is on tour. They recently spent two months touring Europe. They appeared at Smith's Olde Bar here last Sunday and won the open mic competition at Eddie's Attic. Their sound isn't sixties, by the way. Think pop versions of bluegrass and gospel.
We didn't talk about food, but I found the thread at right on their Facebook page
