Restaurants Faces #2: Andrew Sutter at Woodfire Grill

I first met Andrew when he was working at Atmosphere. His signature looked exactly like he'd written "Chicken," which pretty instantly became his nickname. He is seriously one of the most talented servers I've ever run into. It doesn't hurt that he has a degree in art history and design (plus one in religious studies). The point is that he brings an aesthetic perspective to his work and can talk intelligently about menu dishes. He writes hilarious essays, some of which are about the way popular culture is represented in film and print.
In other words, too, he is one of the thousands of under-employed in this country right now. That sucks for him, but it's very good for you.
You should definitely ask for him when you visit Woodfire. He won't torture you with his intellectuality, but you'll get unparalleled service.
