Quick Bites: Updates on the Argosy, Victory Decatur opens, and more

Victory Sandwich Bar in Decatur now open

The Argosy, a new gastropub from the crew behind MJQ and the Bookhouse Pub, will hold a soft opening Thu., Feb. 28, and open officially on Fri., Mar. 8. The restaurant will be located at 470 Flat Shoals Ave., in the former East Atlanta Art and Antique Bazaar space.

We Suki Suki is undergoing preparations to become a "global grub collaborative" by bringing various street-food vendors into the shop. The new name will be Buford Highway EAV, and owner Quynh Trinh plans to launch the collaborative in mid-April.

Kevin Rathbun's newest restaurant, KR SteakBar, will open Wed., Feb. 20 at 4:30 p.m. in the ADAC West building at 349 Peachtree Hills Ave. Overseen by chef de cuisine Chris McDade, the menu will focus on small plates featuring steak and Italian flavors. KR SteakBar will be open Mon.-Sat., 4:30-11 p.m. and Sun., 5:30-10 p.m.

A second location of Victory Sandwich Bar in downtown Decatur opened last week. It is located at 340 Church St. near the Decatur Sqaure.

Highland Bakery is scheduled to open a fourth location in Atlanta this spring at Georgia Tech. It will be in the Bradley Building, where Junior's Grill closed in 2011.

Tomorrow's News Today reports that Lenox Square Grill at Lenox Square in Buckhead has been shut down by its parent company, CentraArchy. P.F. Chang's China Bistro may be taking over the space as part of Simon Property Group's revamping of Lenox Square.

Brett Ashcraft has been named executive chef at Abattoir, stepping up from sous chef, Eater reports.

Josh Carden started at LPC last week as the "handmade pasta chef." He previously worked at Cucina Asellina.

Nation's Restaurant News named three metro Atlanta chains - Marlow's Tavern, Pure Taqueria and Fresh to Order - among its list of 50 national "Breakout Brands."

Additionally, Kevin Rathbun Steak was named among Travel + Leisure's Best Steakhouses in the U.S.

The First Watch restaurant chain has opened its second location in the Atlanta area. The breakfast, brunch, and lunch spot is located at 1675 Cumberland Parkway, Smyrna, in the former J. Christopher's space at the Ivy Walk shopping center.

Cafe at Pharr will open a sixth location in Dunwoody Village this spring. The owners aim to launch in mid-May.
