Congrats to Atlanta's James Beard Award semifinalists


The James Beard Foundation released its list of semifinalists in the 2013 Restaurant and Chef Awards yesterday, bringing us one step closer to the Oscars of food. The lengthy list was generated from more than 44,000 entries submitted through an online open call. The JBF will announce its list of final nominees on Monday, March 18. In the meantime, ups to the Atlanta chefs and restaurants still in the running for a spot on the ballot:

Best New Restaurant
-Cardamom Hill

Outstanding Bar Program
-Holeman & Finch Public House
-The Porter Beer Bar

Outstanding Chef
-Anne Quatrano, Bacchanalia

Outstanding Pastry Chef
-Aaron Russel, Restaurant Eugene

Outstanding Restaurateur
-Ford Fry, Rocket Farm restaurants (the Optimist, JCT. Kitchen, No. 246)
-Mike Klank and Eddie Hernandez, Taqueria del Sol

Outstanding Service

Best Chef: Southeast
-Todd Richards, the Shed at Glenwood
-Billy Allin, Cakes & Ale
-Steven Satterfield, Miller Union
