A moonshine gastropub called Stillhouse will open in the Andrews Entertainment District (56 East Andrews Drive) in March. President and operating partner Steven de Haan is turning the main bar in East Andrews' 30,000 square foot atrium into a new concept, which will offer dinner service Monday through Friday, crafted by chef Jeffrey McGarr.

"It's going to have a cheffed up bar menu and a full cocktail program, but the base of the cocktail program will be centered around moonshine," says de Haan. "We'll be aging the moonshine in six different oak barrels as well as doing some different infusions."

The party scene and DJs that the East Andrews brand has been known for will remain; the courtyard and Andrews Upstairs will continue to serve the late-night and weekend crowds as they have for more than a decade. The only difference will be the revamping of the main bar downstairs within East Andrews Café and Bar to serve the new dinner spot during the week.

"The interior is going to reflect the concept," says de Haan, "with stone or slate floors, copper embellishments on the bar and wood throughout, with traditional, hand-made black pipe light fixtures with antique edits and bulbs."

As for the name, Stillhouse? Still, of the copper equipment used to distill the liquor is combined with house, of the public house ideal of creating a gathering place. The idea is for the moonshine gastropub to provide a local spot in the heart of Buckhead.
