Food media roundup: National Pig Day, Anthony Bourdain on 'Archer,' and more

Here's a trailer for tonight's "Archer," which features Anthony Bourdain in a guest role as celebrity chef "Lance Casteau."

Friday is National Pig Day. Yes, such a day exists. So celebrate in your own way - whether it's by honoring the swine or by chowing down on some barbecue pork, remember that this is their day.

Flowers Foods Inc. has saved Wonder Bread, according to Reuters. The company has agreed to buy the bankrupt Hostess Brand Inc.'s bread brands Butternut, Home Pride, Merita, Nature's Pride, and Wonder Bread. The classic maker of white bread is here to stay.

This Sunday, tune into Food Network to watch local baker Mike Pettenato and his team from Cloud 9 Cupcakes battle it out on "Cupcake Wars," airing at 8 p.m. EST. While I'm not sure that the actual battle resembled The Hunger Games, as Pettenato recalled the experience in an interview with the Atlanta-Journal Constitution, the $10,000 prize would certainly lead to an expansion of his brand in Atlanta.
