Omnivore - Santa Maria materializes on restroom wall at Mezcalito’s
Clean the restroom or go to hell
I returned to Mezcalito’s Monday evening and tried the new restaurant’s fried chicken with red mole. I actually liked it more than the red pork mole I ate at my first visit. Love those little crunchy bits of batter that fall off the chicken and punctuate the sweet mole.
And speaking of sweetness, it was so moving to see Santa Maria materialize on the restroom wall during the week we got a new pope. (Basically the prayer is a promise to keep the restroom clean next time you visit, even if you’re a bit drunk.) It’s like a little bit of Conyers, circa 1985.
