Upscale Roswell restaurant Table & Main ( 1028 Canton St.) has a new chef de cuisine: former Restaurant Eugene executive sous chef Woolery "Woody" Back. The new toque will reportedly take the reins by mid-October, just as Table & Main owner-operator Ryan Pernice readies to open his next venture, nearby Italian restaurant Osteria Mattone.
Tim Willard of the Spence recently passed the Court Of Master Sommeliers' rigorous Advanced Sommelier Exam, making him the seventh Atlantan to currently hold the title. Joining his boss, general manager and wine director Justin Amick, the Spence now boasts two of Atlanta's seven advanced sommeliers.
Ratio Bakeshop, a concept from local culinary veteran Chris Flores, recently opened, operating out of a space at 215 Laredo Drive in Decatur. Flores, formerly of West Egg Cafe, Bakeshop, and Nikolai's Roof, is known for his nostalgic, yet creative desserts (including cherry crostatas with goat cheese and a triple-chocolate cake) already available at metro markets and restaurants such as MetroFresh, Inman Park's Savi Urban Market, the Albert, Park Grounds, and more.
After 20 years of operation and more than 200 restaurants, P.F. Chang's is opening a new location at the Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport - marking the chain's first-ever airport location. The upscale Asian bistro will make its airport debut on Monday, August 26.
In a particularly shady turn of events, the One Love Jerk Grill food truck trailer was stolen on the evening of August 16. Friends of the business have taken to Facebook and Twitter to help track down the thieves. Be sure to let them know if you see the rogue trailer tailgating around the metro area.
In case you missed it, Flip Burger Boutique is opening its fourth location in Poncey-Highland, replacing the recently shuttered hot dog restaurant HD1. Scheduled to open in November, the burger boutique will bring many Flip favorites, but still offer a number of the most popular menu items from HD1.
Ford Fry announced the name of his forthcoming Krog Street Market concept. Superica, slated to open in early 2014, will serve Austin, Texas-influenced Tex-Mex fare cooked partly on wood-burning grills. Plans for Superica also include an indoor/outdoor patio with a bar and stage for live music. Expect tamales, enchiladas, tacos, and margaritas on the menu Fry is developing with chef Kevin Maxey, who also consulted on Fry's latest eatery King + Duke.
In other Krog Street Market news, "Top Chef" alum Eli Kirshtein recently chatted with Atlanta magazine about his upcoming bistro at the Inman Park development, the Luminary. While the menu has yet to be finalized, Kirshtein reveals that the 3,400-square-foot eatery will have a raw bar and beer-heavy beverage options that can be enjoyed on the Krog Street-front patio. Inspired by brasseries around the world (like those in Paris, Montreal, and New Orleans), Kirshtein hopes to give Atlanta the brasserie dining experience it hasn't had since Au Pied de Cochon.
Doraville has a new seafood restaurant called the Crab Boil (h/t Eater Atlanta), which opened August 9 at 6331 Peachtree Industrial Blvd. The classic, Cajun-inspired crab house offers such menu items as crawfish, crab, clams, mussels, shrimp, po' boys, and more.
The Daily Meal has named LongHorn Steakhouse, the Orlando-based chain founded by George McKerrow Jr. in Atlanta in 1981, as the nation's number one steak spot.

Nine Atlanta restaurants (Cakes & Ale, Cardamom Hill, Empire State South, the General Muir, Holeman & Finch, Miller Union, Restaurant Eugene, the Optimist, and Heirloom Market BBQ) made the list.
In a competition hosted by Bombay Sapphire last week, Empire State South's (999 Peachtree St.) Kellie Thorn took home the title of "Most Imaginative Bartender." Thorn's winning cocktail, Pickfair's Garden, included citrus juice and Cocchi Americano. Next up, Thorn will compete at the Bartender's Guild Bartender Summit in Las Vegas on September 8.
