Three new tenants have been announced for Krog Street Market. These include a new burger and sandwich spot, Fred’s Meat & Bread, from the team behind the General Muir; a noodle-centric spinoff of Szechuan-inspired Gu’s Bistro called Gu’s Dumplings; and a second outpost of Little Tart Bake Shop. The additions bring the roster of restaurants currently slated for Krog Street Market to an impressive 10. Details as they arise.

A new weekly speakeasy, Eat Me Speak Me, launches its first official installment on Thursday, September 26. The grassroots concept, born out of the Candler Park Market pop-up, Eat Me, was formed by former Empire State South charcuterie guru Jarrett Stieber. Grab a bite at Eat Me on Sept. 26 and you’ll receive the secret address and password for the night’s speakeasy.

Old Fourth Ward may be getting a new coffee shop, rumored to open underneath a forthcoming storage facility on Decatur Street in January 2014. The Wi-Fi enabled cafe is slated to offer deluxe, organic, and possibly fair-trade beverages to Fulton Cotton Mill Lofts residents, Georgia State students, and more in the former neighborhood of the Village Theatre. In case you missed it, Smyrna’s cult-followed Heirloom Market BBQ (2243 Akers Mill Road) is once again offering dine-in service following a forced transition to catering-only in July (due to issues with Cobb County Code Enforcement and the Department of Transportation). Though dining is restricted to the standing-room-only patio, the development represents a big step toward Heirloom’s former barbecue glory. Details as they arise.

Speaking of Heirloom Market BBQ, its owners, Cody Taylor and Jiyeon Lee, are readying to open their Korean-meets-Southern-style diner, Sobban, on October 1 at 1788 Clairmont Road. Adventurous foodies can look forward to dishes like the soba noodle salad, vegetable Kalguksu with knife-cut noodles; pickled Southern veggies and tempura lotus root in soy-shitake broth; and a smoked pork belly wrap with miso cream, pickled Napa cabbage, local lettuce, crispy rice, and pecan Ssam sauce.

New Foursquare data reveals that the West Midtown location of Yeah! Burger (168 Howell Mill Road) is the second most popular burger joint in the country, and relinquishes the No. 1 rank only to Shake Shack on Madison Ave. in New York. The hip eatery beat out such big names as Stella’s Lounge in Grand Rapids, Michigan, In-N-Out Burger in L.A., and Super Duper Burger in San Francisco.

White Oak Kitchen & Cocktails has named a new executive chef: former Southern Art executive chef Timothy Magee. The Johnson & Wales University grad also boasts experience at Canoe, Barrelhouse Gastropub, Max Lager’s Wood-Fired Grill, and more. Magee comes to his post after departing Southern Art this summer, just six months after taking the helm. He fills the void at White Oak left by Josh Hopkins, who recently took the role of Empire State South’s executive chef.

After 17 years in Poncey-Highland, the gritty-but-gourmet favorite of hipsters and local foodies, the Righteous Room, is apparently opening a second locale in Brookhaven. One can only guess how this restaurant and bar’s punky roots will translate, but the new location is slated to open later this fall in the former location of Thai Lanna at Old Five Points Shopping Center at 2142 Johnson Ferry Road.

Eater Nashville reveals a very intriguing tidbit about acclaimed New Orleans restaurant Cochon: The Cajun-style spot is currently scouting locations for a foray into a second Southern city - with Nashville and Atlanta at the top of the list. Details as they arise.

An outpost of Indian chain Paradise Biryani Pointe has opened at Emory Point. The fast-casual restaurant already serves fans in Alpharetta via a location at 5310 Windward Parkway, while its 34th U.S. location brings eats like Kati rolls, samosas, and cut Murchi chat in-town at 1540 Avenue Place.

F&H Food Trading Group will open a second location of the Roswell favorite Salt Factory Pub on Monday, October 14. The fourth venture of the restaurant group’s owners Hicham Azhari and Fikret Kovac, along with culinary director Bob McDonough, will introduce Alpharetta residents to consistent menu favorites like Prince Edward Island steamed mussels, seven-onion soup, London broil, pulled pork tacos, and housemade pizzas at 102 South Main Street. The owners are also readying to introduce a casual, brick-oven pizzeria in downtown Roswell, close by their existing Roswell concepts. The pies will include toppings like sous-vide pineapple, grilled pistachios, and assorted pestos. Details as they arise.
